The Buddy Holly Story - Auditions!

Directed by Erik Furuheim

Auditions June 29 at 6:30 pm - Newport PAC

Come play a part of rock and roll history! This November, we're producing the popular musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Directed by Erik Furuheim, with Musical Direction by Howard Lackey, this show will need talented, energetic actors and musicians of many ages. The role of Buddy will be played by professional Matt McClure from New York, who has been performing this role for several years across the country. We are extremely pleased that Matt is available for this show and are very excited that he will be spending six weeks with us in Newport.

This show also needs many other talented actors and singers to play the important characters that shaped his life and so we hope you will join us on June 29th at 6:30 for auditions. If you have questions or schedule conflicts, contact the director at efuruheim @ gmail.com.

Please bring a head shot and resume and prepare a short song to perform (16 to 32 bars). Sides will be provided at the audition. Please spread the word about these auditions with any and all music lovers, musicians, performers, or just great people that would want to be part of this once in a life time experience. Rehearsals begin mid October. We are doing only TWO WEEKS of Rehearsal followed by a short tech week. The show opens November 16th and closes December 2nd.

Please see the list below for available roles. The show will be defined around the talent which is available and cast. Experience and training are not necessary but since this is the most popular rock and roll musical of all time, musical ability is of course a plus.
